News Letter October 2021
Hello all
Welcome to all our new starters and returning
families after the summer break. It has been lovely to see so many returning children
as well as lots of new faces. The team at Parkfield looks forward to working
with you all over the coming month
Staff
Changes
There have been a few staff changes over the
current term. Miss Jayme Rollings & Miss Shannon Marshall are at home
continuing to enjoy their maternity leave. Miss Nicole Spiteri has left us to
return to her studies and Mrs Joanne Graves who has been with us for many many
years has left us to use her years of experiences and knowledge to work with
the community Health Visiting team.
Parkfield would like to welcome to the team:
Miss Sarah Bell. Sarah has just recently qualified
and came to support us over the summer months. We were impressed with Sarah’s
dedication to the children and the team.
Miss Amy Stobbart. Amy came to Parkfield as a
child herself all those years ago and returned as a student when she was doing
her training. Amy has had experience in other settings before coming to us and
says it is her dream job to return to us.
Miss Wendy Foster. A mother herself of grown up
boys and who has 20 years’ plus experience in the childcare sector
We welcome all new staff to the team

bring toys into nursery.
Charity
The term “charity begins at home” is something
that the Parkfield team believe in and as such we like to support a charity of
our choosing every academic year (September-August) This year we have chosen to
support the charity Bright Red This charity is
based over the North east and support families who have loved ones fighting
Blood Cancers.
Anne Hooper-Brown, the owner of Parkfield for the
past 37 years is currently away from the Nursery looking after her husband
Martin who is battling lymphoma of the brain. As a team we want to support Anne
& Martin and the charity Bright Red that
gives them, as well as many other families from Cumbria advice and assistance
during a very traumatic time in their lives.
So far this year we have held an outside coffee
Morning for the cancer charity Macmillian. The weather wasn’t on our side but
many of you braved it to come and sit under our shelters with a cuppa, buy
cakes to take home and purchased raffle tickets. Thank you to all that
supported we managed to raise a total of £500.
Going forward for our charity events in the next
couple of months

We
are holding a Halloween party for the children downstairs and a messy play
session for the children upstairs. All the £2.50 ticket monies will be going to
the Bright Red charity.

We
will be having a Yellow raffle for children in need.
We are
also supporting the shoe box appeal. Shoe boxes will be being collected between
15th -22nd November. If you would like to support the
charity, you can do this in several ways. Bring us a full shoe box, donate
items to go in the shoe box or make a financial donation online direct to the
charity.
COVID
update
It still remains to be very strange times that we
find all ourselves in but as a team we are trying our best to keep everyone
safe. Staff continue to do LFT tests twice a week and if in doubt they are
going for PCR tests. Nursery continues to be deep cleaned every evening with a
top up clean at lunch time. We are still not allowing unnecessary adults in the
building and this will continue for the foreseeable future. All we ask is that
you continue to support us. Please don’t send your children to nursery if they
are unwell, if the have a high temperature or have been given calpol for a high
temperature. Local authority guidelines for our area state that if anyone in
your house hold tests positive for Covid children under 18 should self-isolate
for 5 days unless a PCR test has been taken and the result comes back negative
(your child should remain at home until the PCR result comes in) then they may
return before the 5-day isolation period is due to end.
